Instructions
-
Rub the pork shoulder with spice blend, salt, and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet and sear the pork on all sides until browned. Transfer to a slow cooker, add water, and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4–5 hours. Once cooked, shred the pork and mix in barbecue sauce and balsamic vinegar.
-
In a mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, honey, salt, and pepper. Add shredded cabbage and carrot, then toss to coat. Chill until ready to use.
-
Lightly toast the slider buns if desired. Add a generous portion of pulled pork to the bottom of the buns, scoop coleslaw on top of pork and follow with 12 pickle slices for each bun. Top with more barbeque sauce if desired and then cover with the upper bun and serve immediately.

Tips for Hosting Success
- Prep Ahead: Make the pulled pork and slaw the day before to save time. Reheat the pork before serving.
- Keep It Warm: Use a slow cooker to keep the pulled pork warm on a buffet table.
- Let Guests Build Their Own: Set up a slider station with buns, pork, pickles, slaw, and sauces so everyone can customize. This way the pork won’t go dry, and the rolls won’t get soggy.
Don’t want sandwiches? Make the pork and serve with rice or over nachos.
